Kari Wuhrer was born April 28th in 1967. She is an American musician and actor. She began her acting career when she was just a teen. She is most known for her role as Maggie Beckett on the TV series Sliders, as well as in the role of the character of Sheriff Samantha Parker, in the horror-comedy film Eight Legged Freaks. Wuhrer was born in Brookfield Connecticut as the daughter of Karin Noble, who worked as a payroll clerk, and German American Andrew Wuhrer. Her father was the eldest of three children. She started singing at clubs as a teenager, and was known to sneak away from her house in order to perform. Following her studies in acting at the Wooster School from 13 years old she pursued a degree in drama at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University.
